Resonant multi-modal dynamics due to planar 2:1 internal resonances in the non-linear, finite-amplitude, free vibrations of
horizontal/inclined cables are parametrically investigated based on the second-order multiple scales solution in Part I [1]
(in press). The already validated kinematically non-condensed cable model accounts for the effects of both non-linear dynamic
extensibility and system asymmetry due to inclined sagged configurations. Actual activation of 2:1 resonances is discussed, enlightening on a remarkable qualitative difference of horizontal/inclined cables as regards
non-linear orthogonality properties of normal modes. Based on the analysis of modal contribution and solution convergence
of various resonant cables, hints are obtained on proper reduced-order model selections from the asymptotic solution accounting for higher-order effects of quadratic nonlinearities. The dependence of
resonant dynamics on coupled vibration amplitudes, and the significant effects of cable sag, inclination and extensibility
on system non-linear behavior are highlighted, along with meaningful contributions of longitudinal dynamics. The spatio-temporal
variation of non-linear dynamic configurations and dynamic tensions associated with 2:1 resonant non-linear normal modes is illustrated. Overall, the analytical predictions are validated by finite difference-based numerical investigations of

研究横观各向同性饱和土地基上中厚弹性圆板的非轴对称振动问题。基于横观各向同性饱和介质Biot波动方程的一般解,按混合边值问题建立了饱和地基与弹性中厚圆板非轴对称动力相互作用的对偶积分方程,并将对偶积分方程转化为易于计算的第二类Fredholm积分方程;采用数值方法求解该积分方程。数值算例结果表明,当h/a>0.05时,饱和半空间体上中厚度圆板在不同频率下的振动特性与相应频率下的刚性板的振动特性基本相同,当h/a<0.05时,板中心的位移将随h/a的减小而增大。 相似文献

The purpose of this Note is to propose new diffusive capillary models of Korteweg type and discuss their mathematical properties. More precisely, we introduce viscous models which provide some additional information on the behavior of the density close to vacuum. We actually prove that if some compatibility conditions between diffusion and capillarity are satisfied, some extra regularity information on a quantity involving the density is available. We obtain a non-trivial equality deduced from the special structure of the momentum equation. This Note generalizes to some extent the authors' previous works on the Korteweg model (with constant capillary coefficient) and on the shallow water equation. To cite this article: D. Bresch, B. The life analysis of engine components needs to take into account the residual stress relaxation induced by cyclic service loads. The paper recalls a new class of constitutive equations for cyclic viscoplasticity, using a series of kinematic hardening models with thresholds. The equations are introduced within a recently enlarged thermodynamic framework. Some attention is focused to the relations with multisurface approaches and to a specific determination procedure of the model parameters. The new model is applied to the calculation of the near surface residual stress relaxation after shot peening, when the structure is submitted to cyclic service loads. The simulated stabilized residual stresses are in good accordance with experimental results obtained on an N18 disk alloy at 650°C. In comparison, the classical model without threshold predicts the complete vanishing of the residual stresses, which is not satisfactory. 相似文献

Previous work has demonstrated that the low-Reynolds-number model of Launder and Sharma (1974) offers significant advantages over other two-equation turbulence models in the computation of highly non-universal buoyancy-influenced (or “mixed convection”) pipe flows. It is known, however, that the Launder and Sharma model does not possess high quantitative accuracy in regard to simpler forced convection flows. A variant of the low-Reynolds-number scheme is developed here by reference to data for constant property forced convection flows. The re-optimized model and the Launder and Sharma formulation are then examined against experimental measurements for mixed convection flows, including cases in which variable property effects are significant. 相似文献

The objective of this paper is to develop and present the macroscopic motion equations for the fluid and the solid matrix, in the case of a saturated porous medium, in the form of coupled, nonlinear wave equations for the fluid and solid velocities. The nonlinearity in the equations enables the generation of shock waves. The complete set of equations required for determining phase velocities in the case of a thermoelastic solid matrix, includes also the energy balance equation for the porous medium as a whole, as well as mass balance equations for the two phase. In the special case of a rigid solid matrix, the wave after an abrupt change in pressure propagates only through the fluid. 相似文献

The paper deals with propagation of plane wave fronts in a solid with a non-linear relation between stress and deformation.
The objective is to calculate the distance that a wave front covers before it loses continuity. The formulae derived for a
general quasi-linear system of two equations are applied to the propagation of plane compression waves in dry and partially
saturated granular bodies. In the case of a saturated body with gas bubbles, the influence of gas and capillary pressure on
the stiffness of the body is taken into account. Numerical calculations relevant to soil mechanics are presented. For the
numerical calculations a constitutive equation of the hypoplasticity theory for granular materials has been used.

Spiral surface growth is well understood in the limit where motion of the spiral ridge is controlled by the local supersaturation of adatoms in its surrounding. In liquid epitaxial growth, however, spirals can form governed by both, transport of heat as well as solute. We propose for the first time a two-scale model of epitaxial growth which takes into account all of these transport processes. This new model assumes a separation of length scales for the transport of heat compared to that of the solutal field. It allows for the first time numerical simulations of extended surface regions by at the same time taking into account microstructure evolution and microstructure interaction. We apply this model successfully to extend the scaling relation for the step spacing given by the BCF theory [Phil. Trans. R. Soc. London, Ser. A 243, 299 (1951)] to microstructure evolution governed by heat and solute diffusion. Further applications to understand the mechanisms and consequences of spiral interaction at epitaxial surfaces, in particular the resulting morphology transitions, are discussed. 相似文献

High velocity penetration of a rigid conical impactor into a ductile target with air gaps between the plates is studied using the cylindrical cavity expansion approximation describing impactor–target interaction. It is showed that the latter model predicts improvement of the ballistic performance of the target with the increase of air gaps. It is found analytically that the ballistic limit velocity of the target consisting of N plates with a fixed total thickness with large air gaps increases with the increase of N. The conditions are discussed when the predicted effects can be most pronounced. 相似文献
